Dear Friends,
This letter is an invitation to contribute stories for the publishing of a book of international stories. The project is funded by TEA-ILEP Alumni Small Grants Competition USA.
We the alumni of TEA 2010 explored this idea of story writing because we feel that creative writing plays an important role in a child's development. Most children have an inherent need to express themselves in words. Intellectually stimulating creative writing program help the students develop this art.
The reasons for creative writing are many
· to foster artistic express
· to explore the functions and values of writing
· to stimulate imagination
· to clarify thinking
· to search for identity
  • to entertain
With these compelling reasons in mind we thought that a platform in the form of a book of International short stories could be published. This would provide an opportunity to the children across the globe to explore other cultures and develop sensitivity to cultures across the world.
We request the collaborators to work under the following guidelines mentioned below:
  • Age group 12 to 17 years
  • We are looking at 8-10 stories in the countries` cultural setting for each country leader.
  • 1500 words to 2000 words.
  • If possible an illustration or a picture with reference to the setting of the story. Photograph of the story writer and the illustrator.
  • Country leader’s write up on the learning through this collaboration with photograph of the teacher leader.
·       The Principals write up about the school and importance of such platforms
The collaborators must let us know if they are participating ASAP.
Final draft of the story should be submitted by mid June 2013.
Book Title will be an online competition held in the month of July. All collaborators can organize the competition of the book title in their schools. The reward will be to use the title for the book.
Looking forward to a positive response.

Best wishes and regards,
